The Elk Grove Police Department is now accepting applications for the next Citizens Academy session, which begins Feb. 8. The Citizens Academy is a 15-week program designed to inform and teach interested residents about the various aspects of municipal policing.

Superstar raises over $12,000

Pine Island Superstar, a project of the Greater Pine Island Lions Club, raised $12,500 through quarter donations of the audience’s favorite singers.
