Saginaw County health care industry grows, manufacturing slows
In 2009, positions in the health care and social assistance industry accounted for 14,488 jobs in Saginaw County, a growth of 3.1 percent since 2005, when 14,051 people were employed in that sector. Manufacturing jobs in the county declined 33.6 percent between 2005 and 2009, purging 4,584 jobs, the most of any industry.

Community aids local non-profit after recent burglary
The non-profit clinic Eye Care for Kids are trying to recover from a recent burglary with help from the community. Police said thieves broke the window of the business and took of with hundreds of dollars. The extensive damage would cost at least $1,500 to replace. Contractor Kurt Brey spent hours Saturday morning cleaning up the mess to make way for a new window, free of charge.
